Today’s dinosaur is the fearsome Utahraptor:

Jurassic Park’s Velociraptor was actually based on a fictional “giant” velociraptor, the realistic versions of which were only the size of a turkey. But during the production of the movie, a giant raptor was found: Utahraptor, lending some credibility to the blind specualtion.
At 6 meters long, 2 meters tall, and weighing in at 1,500 lbs, Utahraptor would have been a force to be reckoned with, especially if the animal was as smart as has been suggested.
Out version, pictured above, gets its patterns from the modern leopard lizard.

Not bad… But it should REALLY have wings and tail feathers, as it was an advanced maniraptoran. ;)

Fantastic! I really like the coloration.

Shuvuuia- It has got tail feathers, but yes, we left off the wings. The Deinonychus model is closer to a straightforward bird form, with wing feathers, tail feathers, and a plume.

Dinosaurs have alwayst reminded me of a bird that a mad scientist has mutated. Raptors, as it seems to me, might have had very small worthless wings.

Small but not worthless! Juveniles could run up trees with them!

Huh I just noticed the tail on the utahraptor is the same as the deinoychus.
