Announcing Dinosauria

Dinosaurs live in our collective imagination as the end of things - the crumbling bone, the violently deceased.  We imagine flesh ripped from scales and meteors scarring the earth.  Through dinosaurs we imagine our own extinction - grey, dusty, lifeless.

If you were to look to the sky a year before the meteor came hurtling from the sky, what would you see?

If you were to peer through the foliage, would you notice the teeming life in the valley beyond?

Venture Dinosauria is about the chaos and color of life on Earth in the first days of flowers, in the last days of lizards.

  1. I love dinosaurs! I took a paleontology class and it was awesome.

  2. I think everyone loves dinosaurs :)

This game is likely to have a whole new perspective on them — how they fought and died certainly, but also how they lived. There’s all sorts of cool stuff in the game about experimenting with feathers, metabolisms, stuff like that. And really cool battles :)

  3. Now you’re talking. This is going to be awesome. Great idea!

  4. This looks awesome! You had me at “Dinosaurs”.

  5. Awesome. As somebody who wanted to be a paleontologist for a long time when I was a kid, this should be cool =D.

  6. Fantastic announcement! I’m wicked excited to follow the project and get my hands on the end result.

I look forward to the next update.

  7. Your kidding! I had always been a dinosaur fan, and as a kid I had a collection of little figurines. Though I’ve quite outgrown my love for the prehistoric beasts, I still am interested. But a game? Oh joy, I can’t wait to see how it turns out!

    Good luck!

  8. Is there a way to help speed up the process of venture dinosauria, like a donation or something. Because I have both venture africa and venture arctic and they are great!

  9. I mean is there any donation of money that might help? I don’t have much but i’ll help any way possible, even though I’m 14. I love the wildlife tycoon. It’s the best ecosystem game there is!

  10. Hi Joshua- It’s wonderful that you are so excited! We have thought about accepting donations… I’ll look into it further. When we are a bit closer, we will also likely take preorders. This sort of support will in fact make it faster getting it done, so it’s much appreciated. I’ll let you know when we have a system for accepting them worked out.

  11. dis shld b lik Jurassic Park!!
    hope it comes out soon

  12. Killerhertz Says:

What type of predators are likely to be in the game

  13. We’ve announced our dinosaur list, the predators are: T-Rex, Acrocanthosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, Utahraptor, Deinonychus

  14. This is going to be the best tycoon game!

  15. Killerhertz Says:

the list sounds amazing thanks for the reply

  16. Is there gona be Brachiosaurus in the game???

  17. A close relative of his is in the game, Sauroposeidon!

  18. I don’t mind if you don’t,but do you get to be the dinosaurs in this game like you get to be the animals in “Venture Africa”? or is it more like “Venture Arctic”? or are you doing a whole diffrent angle?

It’s just a question I had in my mind for a few days.

  19. Well, all our games are different, however, we are taking some bits from both Africa and Arctic. As for being a dinosaur, you’ll just have to wait and see!

  20. Just looking at the rex and the background, I could tell it’s going to be great,no, it’s going to be awsome!

  21. Awesome! there’s gonna be cavemen running around as a resource your Dino’s eat right?! You known just like it actually happened back in the day.

  22. Dinosaurs were extinct before the first true PRIMATES. The early mammals that were alive during the dinosaurs’ reign were small omnivores/scavengers. The dinos pretty much ignored them. So, nooo cavemen. And I prefer to call them Neanderthals.
