What colors were dinosaurs?

An interesting article was forwarded to me today from a paleontology blog – it talks about the current research into the colors of dinosaur feathers.

I found the article interesting… but what particularly caught my eye was how RIGHT we were when designing the Utahraptor in Dinosauria.  The description of the colors of the theropod in the article very closely resemble the design we put together.  Check it out: (click for a larger image)

  2. Very nice! This news will probably add even more realism to the game! But didn’t they find out that the pattern was red and white rings around the tail? ;)

  3. cool looks real and blake ur wrong dah..

  4. Sorry, that pattern was for the Sinosauropteryx according to the article, not Utahraptor. And the color wasn’t red, it was ginger. My mistake.

Almost looks like a Utahraptor and a Volciraptor mixed with leopard skin.Anyways good try on the pattern. No one knows what dinos looked like.We woulf if there were cavemen!(But we still wouldn’t know what dinos looked like since people couldn’t remeber thoise day,but their’ colours could be passed down to generation to generation.
